Harvard Student Recources

Harvard Student Resources (HSR) is a dynamic personnel agency that provides a variety of temporary services to Harvard and the surrounding communities. With over 500 student employees, HSR provides more jobs to Harvard students than any other agency at HSA. While providing student employees to the Harvard and Cambridge communities, HSR successfully generates over $250,000 in gross revenue per year.

Also under the auspices of HSR is the famous Harvard Bartending Course (HBC) which awards students a "Master of Mixology" degree upon graduation. Enrollment fees for HBC generate over $55,000 in gross revenue per year.

One of HSR's current projects is the expansion of its SAT SOS prep course. HSR is looking to broaden the course to include private tutoring and conclusive instruction on college prep.

The management team at HSR also oversees HSA Translation.

As a Manager / Assistant Manager at HSR you will:

  • Create a budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Work closely with the current manager to forecast performance of the agency for the next year.
  • Develop a business plan for the direction of the agency. This will include an analysis of the market demand for the services that we offer, an analysis of our competitors' strategies, and your plan for a future course of action.
  • Work to improve the quality of jobs HSR provides to students through offering high-end services in the professional arena.
  • Read and interpret monthly income statements to gauge the performance of your agency.
  • Interact with countless numbers of customers and employees on a daily basis, learning valuable skills in customer service, employee relations, and contract negotiations among other front office issues.
  • Learn to use financial software for billing, payroll, and to determine profitability of individual services.
  • Create a college prep course to rival Kaplan and Veritas Tutors.
  • Expand the bartending course to successfully launch 2 additional courses in addition to our Masters of Mixology. This means that the Harvard Bartending Course will allow individuals to earn their Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorates in Mixology!
