TIPS Training
The first session of the course is devoted to legal issues of bartending. TIPS (Training in Intervention Procedures by Servers of alcohol) is a nationwide certification program that teaches the responsible serving of alcohol. Issues addressed include: checking IDs, the physiological and psychological effects of consuming alcohol, and the best ways to keep guests under control. The TIPS portion of the course uses an interactive case method where various scenarios are acted out to give you an accurate portrayal of the proper methods for handling difficult situations. At the end of this session, you'll take the TIPS certification exam and receive your certification card in the mail.
